In Celebration of 90th Anniversary, MECU Credit Union Launches “90 Days of Community”

Baltimore, Md. — September 8, 2026 — MECU Credit Union is celebrating its 90th anniversary by honoring the community it has served since 1936. To mark the milestone, the credit union has launched 90 Days of Community, a volunteer and charitable giving initiative running from late August through November.

The initiative kicked off when MECU employees volunteered at partner schools to welcome students and cheer them on as they returned for the first day of school, reflecting the credit union’s longstanding commitment to supporting families, education, and community partnerships.

“Ninety years in a community is an honor and a privilege,” said John Hamilton, President and CEO. “It means being invited into people’s lives, earning their trust, and walking with them through every chapter. Our anniversary is a moment to honor that relationship by serving in ways that reflect the heart of who we are.”

Throughout the 90 Days of Community, MECU employees will participate in volunteer projects across Baltimore, and the credit union will make contributions to organizations that strengthen local communities.
