Snap, Tag, and Win Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

  1. HOW TO ENTER
    1. These rules govern the Snap, Tag, and Win promotion (the “Promotion”) being conducted by MECU beginning on October 2, 2026 at 9:00am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ending on October 2, 2026 at 5:00pm ET (the “Promotion Dates”).
    2. To participate in the Promotion, you will take a photo of yourself wearing MECU sunglasses, a free item obtained at all branch locations during the anniversary celebration. You will upload a photo to Facebook, Instagram, or X, post the photo from your account, and tag MECU Credit Union at the following handles: X: @MECUcreditunion; Instagram: @mecucreditunion; or Facebook: MECU Credit Union.
    3. Within 10 days after conclusion of the Promotion Dates, winners will be notified via direct message to the social media account where they posted their entry photo. The winning member has 72 hours to respond with a valid email address of where the gift card may be sent. After 72 hours, the prize is no longer valid and another winner will be randomly selected.
    4. Only one entry per person during the Promotion Dates is permitted, regardless of the number of posts across all social media platforms (for example, one person may not submit 3 entries by posting to each of the 3 noted social media platforms). Entries will be deemed to be made by the authorized social media account holder name that matches MECU’s membership records at the time of entry and eligibility verification. All entries submitted become the sole property of MECU and will not be acknowledged or returned. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by any party. MECU is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties, and/or other technological problems.
  2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
    1. The Promotion is open to all members who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in the greater Baltimore Metropolitan area. Member must be in good standing with MECU Credit Union to receive prize. This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
    2. Entrants are required to provide truthful information and MECU will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. MECU will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements. 
  3. PRIZES
    1. A total of nine prizes will be awarded during the Promotion: eight prizes each of a $90 gift card and one grand prize of a $900 gift card (gift card issuer will be selected by MECU—each a “Prize” and collectively the “Prizes”). The winners will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses not specified herein associated with the receipt and use of the Prize. 
    2. All Prizes must either be picked up by the winner at a specified MECU branch of their choosing or provide a valid email address to receive the gift card via email. They must provide proper documentation before receiving their prize. MECU is not responsible for the safe arrival of any Prize. 
    3. There is no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for Prizes. Other restrictions may apply.
  4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
    1. Decisions of MECU management with respect to the Promotion are final.
    2. Nine winners will be chosen at random between October 5, 2026 and October 9, 2026 and contacted by via direct message to the social media platform associated with an eligible entry. Two attempts will be made to contact winners. If a winner does not respond timely, MECU will select an alternate winner. 
    3. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion period.
    4. The winner must execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within ten (10) days of winning or Prize will be forfeited and the amount won will be returned to MECU. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a Prize or Prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner forfeits the Prize and a new winner will be chosen by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries.
  5. CONDITIONS
    1. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner. The winner will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any Prize. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the Prize. 
    2. By participating in the Promotion, the winner agrees to have the winner’s name, voice, image, and likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to the Promotion without additional financial or other compensation, and, if requested by MECU, will be required to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the Prize.
    3. Prior to awarding any Prize, MECU, in its sole discretion, may require a winner to sign a liability release, agreeing to release and hold harmless MECU, its corporate offices, subsidiary and affiliated entities, their respective officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives and all of their successors and assigns from and against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the Prize and participation in the Promotion.
    4. If for any reason this Promotion cannot be executed as planned, including, but not limited to, as a result of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of MECU that corrupt or affect the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, or if the Promotion is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, MECU reserves the right to cancel, terminate, suspend or modify the Promotion. If the Promotion is terminated before the original end date, MECU reserves the right to select the winners by random drawing from among all eligible non-suspect entries received as of the termination time/date or otherwise modify the procedure for selecting winners. 
    5. MECU, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of MECU’s website. Failure to comply with the rules of the Promotion may result in an entrant’s disqualification and/or forfeiture of any Prize. If MECU makes a good faith determination that an entrant has cheated or committed fraudulent activity in connection with a Promotion, MECU reserves the right to disqualify that entrant from entering and/or winning future Promotions and to prosecute and seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    6. MECU reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the Promotion, including, without limitation, the substitution of a Prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of MECU, any competition or Prize-related event or travel is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, MECU reserves the right, but not the obligation, to suspend, cancel or modify the Promotion and shall not be required to award a substitute Prize.
    7. MECU is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the Promotion or in the announcement of a Prize.
    8. For a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt by October 9, 2026 to “Snap, Post, and Win – Official Rules,” Attn: (Marketing Dept. MECU Credit Union, 1 South St, Baltimore, MD 21202). For the names of the Prize winners send a self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt by October 9, 2026 to the above address marked Snap, Post, and Win – Winner List.” The Official Rules and the Winner List (when completed) shall also be available during regular business hours at the main offices of MECU.
