MECU Brings Comfort and Joy with Donations to Baltimore Nonprofits

BALTIMORE – As part of MECU’s annual holiday giving effort, the Credit Union is donating more than $25,000 to various charities supporting Baltimore communities.

MECU has identified seven nonprofits that will be given support through the Credit Union’s providing of meals, clothing, and toys for individuals and families this holiday season.

In addition to monetary donations, MECU is encouraging all of its employees to volunteer with the select organizations throughout this holiday season. Employees can serve meals to those currently unhoused, make holiday cards and baskets for senior citizens, and distribute holiday gifts.

“This is who we are as a credit union,” said John Hamilton, MECU CEO. “Giving back to our community during the holiday season and throughout the year is a part of our fabric.”

MECU’s annual holiday effort is an extension of the credit union’s longstanding dedication to charitable giving. In recent years, MECU has provided financial support to more than 100 nonprofit organizations that aim to make Baltimore a better place for all.
