The nationwide event, which runs from Feb. 27 to March 4, aims to reinforce the importance of savings and encourage people to make savings automatic.
MECU, Baltimore’s credit union, is encouraging Baltimore residents to take an online savings pledge and create their savings plan. Members can review savings tips posted on MECU’s Facebook and Twitter pages, open a savings account and setup automatic, recurring transfers into the account. Visitors to MECU branches can also participate in the #PledgetoSave photo challenge and learn more about savings options.
“America Saves Week is a great opportunity for us to reinforce the importance of setting a savings goal and having a plan,” said John Hamilton, MECU President and CEO. “Whether you are saving for an emergency fund, family vacation, or retirement, MECU has great interest rates and products to help you save smarter.”
